Life is a pen

life is a pen, not a pencil

you can scrape over the words, obscure them or embellish them

but you can’t take them back

there are so many things I want to tell you

but I hold back, hoping to leave the page unscathed

there’s only so much planning I can do, before I’m forced to act before ink makes contact with paper

don’t waste ink trying to unmake the mistakes you’ve made

glide and grate until the ink runs out
